Ronny Tong says a pan-dem should replace him

RTHK Photo: Damon PangThe vice-chairman of the Legco's House Committee, Ronny Tong, who is resigning from Legco before the start of the next legislative year, said it would be ideal to have a pan-democrat to take over his job in the panel.

But he refused to name anyone saying that might jeopardise their chances.

Mr Tong also pointed out that the government has - yet again - been tabling bills to the legislature at very late stages of the legislative year.

He warned that this cannot go on again next year - before the end of the current Council's term and the formation of a new legislature in the 2016 elections.
