Lead contamination at another housing estate

Anthony Cheung says blood tests will be carried out in affected units. RTHK photoThe government said on Tuesday that lead content has been found in water samples taken from five units at from the Kwai Luen Estate at Kwai Chung.

Last week a test at the Kai Ching Estate in Kowloon City also revealed that water there had lead content that exceeded WHO safety standards.

The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Anthony Cheung, said the residents of Kwai Luen Estate units will undergo blood tests as soon as possible.

Temporary water stations will also be set up at the estate to provide safe water for residents.
