About 700 people, including senior officials , have attended a ceremony to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the defeat of Japan, and the end of World War II in the Pacific. The ceremony took place at the City Hall Memorial Garden.
Amongst those present were the Acting Chief Executive, John Tsang, and the Secretary for Transport and Housing Anthony Cheung.
Mr Cheung said it was important not to forget the lessons of history.
