People Power says the People's Liberation Army should give up two barracks in Hong Kong, so that they can be used for building flats.
A lawmaker from the party, Albert Chan, said the Kowloon East Barracks and the Gun Club Hill Barracks were very close to public facilities and appear to have been left vacant for a long time. He said if they can be released together, they can provide 21 hectares of land.
Chan said the army's presence in Hong Kong is a symbol of China's sovereignty, but the land it has taken up was unreasonably large.
