Nobody likes being surprised on the loo - whether you run out of toilet paper or somebody bursts in on you, it's just not fun for anyone.
As of yesterday morning, we think a certain elderly man in Hong Kong may be of the same school of thought...
The 71-year-old, surnamed Wong, recently underwent two endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatograms (ERCPs) at Kwong Wah Hospital to remove gallstones from his bile ducts.
On the morning that he was reportedly due to have his third such procedure, however, Wong was horrified when what he thought would be an ordinary poo yielded six inches of rubber tubing.
According to Oriental Daily, Wong popped his rubber stool in the bag to show his doctor, who appeared unperturbed by the news.
The doctor reportedly explained that two tubes were left in Wong's body intentionally to help his bile flow into the duodenum (the first part of the smaller intestine). According to a surgical specialist, the tubes occasionally shift and are naturally passed by the patient, which is reportedly safe and does not affect the patient's body. He claimed Wong was told all this before the procedure.
Wong reportedly insisted that he would have remembered being told something so horrifc, adding that he has lost all faith in Kwong Wah, and would rather spend his money on a private hospital in future.
