Policy Address fails to help underprivileged: Soco
The Society for Community Organisation on Wednesday criticised Chief Executive CY Leung's Policy Address, saying it lacked sufficient measures to improve the livelihood of underprivileged people despite the government sitting on huge fiscal reserves.
The group also said the Policy Address lacked new initiatives on improving employment prospects for the poor, or providing near-term alternative housing for those living in sub-divided flats.
It said it was also disappointed about the absence of new measures to alleviate poverty.
