The Civil Human Rights Front is calling on people to take part in a demonstration on Wednesday morning in Wanchai where state leader Zhang Dejiang will attend a conference.
The group also criticised the police’s security arrangement, saying this will prevent Zhang from learning about what exactly is happening in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile Labour Party lawmaker Cyd Ho said she will be attending a cocktail reception which Zhang is attending. Earlier she had said she will not.
She said she had a rethink after learning that it was not a just a courtesy meeting and she wil get a chance to present her views to the visiting Beijing leader.
Zhang is the top most central leader to visit Hong Kong after the 2014 Occupy protests.
