The Chinese antitrust regulator confirmed on Tuesday that it is launching an anti-monopoly investigating concerning Microsoft Corp's Windows operating system and Office business software.
The State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) said in a statement the US company's two iconic products may encounter compatibility and file verification issues because Microsoft did not disclose enough product information. Microsoft is also facing tied-in sale investigations, the SAIC said.
Microsoft did not immediately respond to the SAIC's announcement.
On Monday, SAIC officials visited Microsoft's offices in nine Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu.
