Stand together, says Civic Party's Kwok

Civic Party legislator Dennis Kwok has called on Hong Kong people to unite in their call for genuine democracy.
Speaking on RTHK's Letter to Hong Kong, Mr Kwok said the government's recent report on political reform for the National People's Congress Standing Committee failed to adequately address the community's demands for the public to be able to nominate chief executive candidates.
"The voice of the Hong Kong people has fallen on deaf ears," Mr Kwok said.
"The report's emphasis on pragmatism and implementing in 2017 a universal suffrage serves as an excuse for the government to do whatever is politically convenient: distortion of public opinion, taking things out of context, applying unwarranted terms to our laws."
