Tough action urged over pier works

The concern group Green Sense says a contractor working on a section of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge of should face penalties for not complying with the project's environmental permit.
Green Sense's spokesman Roy Tam said the contractor had built piers at intertidal zones near Sha Lo Wan and dumped construction waste.
Work on the section of the bridge was suspended after villagers lodged complaints about a month ago.
But, Mr Tam called for penalties to be imposed on the contractor.
He said failure to take tough action would make people think the law is useless.
