He responded to reporters' questions by saying that some media organisations have "habitually been stirring up rumours."
Mr Leung was speaking in Beijing after meeting a member of the Communist Party Politburo, Zhang Dejiang, who oversees Hong Kong affairs.
Mr Leung said Mr Zhang expressed "high appreciation" for his work, and that of the SAR Government.
When asked whether he took that to mean that Beijing now backs him to serve another five-year term after 2017, Mr Leung said there was no need to read too much into Mr Zhang's comment.
