Hutchison slammed over land swap demand

Katty LawCritics have slammed a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa - or CK Hutchison after its reorganisation - for applying for a land swap to occupy a green belt area, in order to save a Grade One historic building that it owns on 23 Coombe Road.

Katty Law, a member of Alliance for a Beautiful Hong Kong, said it's important to preserve the 128-year-old European mansion, but she also stressed it is unacceptable for the firm to develop on a green belt site.

She called on the Town Planning Board to say no the demand.
