The chairwoman of the Democratic Party, lawmaker Emily Lau, says she hopes Beijing will open its door to others from Hong Kong's pro-democracy camp, after a senior mainland official met her and other party leaders last month.
She said Beijing can only get a clear picture of what was happening in the city by listening to various views.
"What I would like to see happen very soon is for the central government officials to meet with other pro-democracy legislators and parties, and also meet with members of civil society because there are groups which never had the chance to talk to Beijing", Lau said.
