About 4,000 tickets will be sold online for the World Cup football qualifier showdown between Hong Kong and the mainland next month.
Those who purchase the tickets will have to produce their Hong Kong identity cards when they collect them from the Hong Kong Football Association.
The vice chairman of the association, Pui Kwan-kay, said this was to ensure that those who had bought the tickets are Hong Kong residents.
The tickets will go on sale early next month, and will be limited to two per person instead of four as in the past.
The match will be played at the Mong Kok Stadium on November 17. Fans from the mainland will be given seats in a designated area in the 6,000-seat stadium to prevent possible clashes with Hong Kong fans.
