The Town Planning Board has deferred its review on some green groups’ proposal to make a section of Des Voeux Road in Central vehicle-free.
The proponents Clean Air Network, Designing Hong Kong and other green groups have applied for a deferral because they need time to raise funds and conduct research to tackle the questions raised by the authorities on the feasibility of the plan.
District Councillor Paul Zimmerman, also the founder of Designing Hong Kong, said the questions are reasonable but he thought the government should be the one tackling the technical problems instead.
