A group of radicals who advocate “localism” are suspected to be involved in last week’s small explosion outside the Legislative Council, police sources told RTHK.
But they said no arrest actions have been planned so far as further investigations were needed.
Security camera footage had showed two masked men, dressed in black, threw objects into a bin last Wednesday after setting them on fire, and a small explosion ensued.
It was understood that the force would deploy more officers to patrol around the complex as Legco sets to resume the second reading of the copyright bill after the incident.
But police sources said the chance of seeing confrontations were unlikely.
