The Chief Executive has hit out at one of the organisers of the Occupy Central movement, a day after Hong Kong's representative on the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Rita Fan, warned the campaign was doomed to fail.
Speaking ahead of the weekly Executive Council meeting, CY Leung said the behaviour of Occupy organiser Benny Tai and others involved in the movement over the past year and a half had not helped Hong Kong's political reform process.
Mr Leung also said he hoped that after the Standing Committee's decisions on reform are announced, the people of Hong Kong will express their views in a calm, legal and rational manner.
The NPCSC is continuing a week-long meeting in Beijing that is expected to culminate in a framework being set out to determine Hong Kong's political future.
