Facebook Inc, which operates the world’s largest social network platform, has hired an 18-year-old for a full-time engineering job at the firm, Bloomberg News reported Friday.
The company has offered Michael Sayman, who recently graduated from a high school in Miami, a full-time position after he served as an intern for a while, the report said.
That makes him one of the firm’s youngest employees.
Sayman is said to have been discovered as he was using the company’s tools for developers in a popular iPhone application he created.
“The summer internship at Facebook has been amazing, but it’s not over,” Sayman was quoted as saying in a post on his Facebook page. “Facebook has offered me a full-time job as an engineer. The adventure is just beginning.”
