A former ICAC investigator has defended the anti-graft body after its officers searched the homes of Next Media boss, Jimmy Lai and his assistant, and Labour Party leader Lee Cheuk-yan yesterday.
The ICAC has been accused of political persecution over the raids.
But it says it acted impartially and was investigating complaints accusing some lawmakers of accepting advantages in breach of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance.
Former ICAC investigator, Lam Cheuk-ting, said it appeared everything was done according to normal procedure.
