Hongkongers to be allowed to serve on Shenzhen juries
Hong Kong related cases and litigants have dominated foreign trials sat by the Shenzhen Court, with 7,500 cases or 79 percent of 9,505 foreign cases heard between 20008 and 2013, according to a Xinhua news report.
The scheme would allow greater participation between Hong Kong and mainland courts, head of Shenzhen’s commercial court Ye Qing told the mainland media.
The finer details of the plan have yet to be fleshed out, such as how jurors would be selected and which kind of cases Hong Kongers will be permitted to sit.
