The Chairman of Beijing's Basic Law Committee Li Fei has said that if there's no progress in Hong Kong's political reform, it would be the fault of those who vote down the government's proposal for the Chief Executive election in 2017.
Mr Li made the remark after hearing views from Hong Kong politicians and professionals in three seminars held in Shenzhen.
At a meet-the-media session afterwards, Mr Li also reiterated that the Nominating Committee, to be set up to name CE candidates, would follow the majority rule and make collective decisions on who should be allowed to run for the top job.
Those invited to Friday's meeting include Democratic Party's Cheung Man-kwong and Civic Party's chairwoman Audrey Eu.
Mr Li has ruled out civil nomination in two similar sessions held Thursday.
Mr Li's also insisted Hong Kong's future Chief Executive must be a patriot.
Meanwhile, views on political reform in the territory are apprently still poles apart, despite Thursday's last-ditch effort to reach some form of consensus in Shenzhen.
