Police encouraged not to join parade

A police chief has called on colleagues not to take part in the "Support Police Parade"
tomorrow.
Speaking on an RTHK radio programme, the Acting Director of Operations of the force, Cheung Tak-cheung, said taking part could undermine the force's political neutrality.
The parade from Central to Wanchai is organised by a coalition of groups who want to pay tribute to police following criticism over their handling of both pro-democracy and anti-government protests.
They say they expect thousands of people to take part.
