Govt. departments told to cut spending

The government has reportedly issued a notice to various bureaus and departments ordering them to cut their expenses by one percent each year from 2016 to 2018.
Sources said the decision was aimed at controlling the increase of the government's overall expenditure by encouraging the different bureaus and departments to better manage their existing resources, and prioritise the implementation of their policies.
The proposed cut has been described as "relatively mild" and it is hoped the move will boost the administration's capability in providing new public services in the long run.
