Fears over HK's democracy movement
HKT 14:14
The chairman of the Labour Party, legislator Lee Cheuk-yan, said on Friday that he was worried that the row over undeclared donations received by five pan-democratic lawmakers will have an adverse impact on Hong Kong's democracy movement.
Leaked documents last month showed that five lawmakers - including Mr Lee - received donations from media tycoon, Jimmy Lai, without declaring them as required under the rules of the Legislative Council.
Mr Lee said the controversy came at a bad time and he apologised for that.
Another lawmaker who is involved - the chairman of the League of Social Democrats Leung Kwok-hung - called on the public not let the controversy affect their determination to fight for democracy.
