League of Social Democrats lawmaker Leung Kwok-hung has called on Beijing to honour a pledge the Chinese Communist Party made in 1944, to grant genuine universal suffrage.
Speaking on RTHK's Letter to Hong Kong, Mr Leung said the party wrote in an editorial of the New China Daily that censorship of nomination means a restriction on electoral rights, which in turn would turn electorates into voting tools.
