Cabo da Roca, a popular spot for tourists on the west coast of Portugal, was the scene of a tragic 'selfie' accident over the weekend.
A Polish couple vacationing in Portugal fell to their deaths over the weekend while attempting to take photographs of themselves on the edge of a cliff, media reports said on Tuesday.
As their horrified two young children watched, the couple plunged to their deaths while taking a selfie at the cliffs at Cabo da Roca on the west coast of Portugal, reports said.
The parents may have crossed a safety barrier in order to reach the cliff edge, according to the Daily Mail.
Portuguese authorities are investigating the incident.
The children, said to be aged 5 and 6, are now in the care of Polish diplomats and are currently seeing psychologists after the traumatic event, the Independent newspaper said.
