Wealthy foreigners hoping to migrate to Canada are preparing to sue Ottawa over the government's cancellation of its immigrant investor program.The program had been criticised domestically for allowing rich Chinese to buy their way into Canada.
A lawyer representing a group of mostly Chinese would-be immigrants said he expected to file a second lawsuit within two months, possibly a class-action one, which may lead to the revival of thousands of applications that were being processed when the government cancelled the scheme. |
