HONG KONG - A woman who falsely claimed her six-month-old baby had been abducted pleaded guilty to preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice at the District Court on Wednesday.
Ng Tin-yan, 33, led police on a wild goose chase in search of her baby late last year, claiming her baby had been abducted when the infant was in fact already deceased and hidden at Ng’s home.
She told authorities she did not know what to do when she found the dead infant at home in November last year and concocted a story about a man who took her child in San Po Kong.
Police investigations found Ng has conducted internet searches on how to dispose of a dead body.
Ng’s case has been adjourned until September 5 pending background, psychiatric and psychological reviews.
