HONG KONG - The former chief editor of the Ming Pao newspaper, Kevin Lau, has returned to work - five months after suffering severe injuries in a chopper attack, according to RTHK's news report.
Lau, who returned to work on crutches, said he was on a long road to recovery and could only work half-days for the time being because he has to go for physiotherapy every morning.
But he said he was excited to be back and urged those in the news industry to continue carrying out their responsibilities without fear or favor.
Lau is now the chief operating officer of MediaNet Resources - a subsidiary of Ming Pao that produces online news materials and publishes electronic books.
Mainland police earlier arrested two men in the city of Dongguan, Guangdong province, who are believed to be the assailants responsible for the Feb 26 chopper attack on Lau. The two men who allegedly attacked him, were earlier charged with wounding and theft.
