《時代》：港人不是子女 中央無法駕馭
《時代》週刊日前刊出文章No Matter What Beijing Says, Hong Kong Is Ready for Full Democracy，反駁北京常用的「父母與子女」比喻，指港人有能力決定香港的政治前景、慣於就關心的議題發聲，絕非北京能夠駕馭的「子女」。
文章引述內地法律學者王振民早前表示，北京猶如香港母親，母親永遠懷著好意為子女作最好抉擇；《時代》如此回應這個北京常用的比喻：
The fact is, the people of Hong Kong are absolutely able to chart their own political course. They are witty and well educated, voracious consumers of media and extremely vocal on issues that concern them...Hong Kong is not a child, in other words. It is stuck with a priggish parent with no idea how to cope.
