Police in New Zealand have issued an urgent appeal for information about an elderly Hong Kong tourist who has been missing for more than two weeks.
Joyce Wong Kwei-ying, 63, went missing while holidaying alone in the resort town of Queenstown in the south of the country.
Police have released an image of Wong captured by surveillance cameras outside a mall on August 22.
“Joyce’s family, who all live overseas, are understandably very worried about her and are also appealing for help from the public,” said Detective Sergeant Brian Cameron.
He appealed for anyone who may remember speaking with or seeing Wong to contact Queenstown police immediately.
Wong arrived in the resort town on August 18 and was last seen the day before she was due to fly back to Hong Kong on August 23.
She was wearing a knee-length purple coat and carrying a green backpack when she was captured by surveillance cameras on Camp Street outside O’Connell’s mall on the afternoon of August 22.
She did not return to her accommodation that night and missed her flight home the next day.
Wong is about 1.6 metres tall and weighs around 56 kilograms, police said.
