In response to Beijing's proposal, the press conference, titled "Support True Democracy, Support Hong Kong" was successfully held in Manhattan's Chinatown, New York, at 3 p.m. yesterday (September 1). Journalists representing a number of America-based Chinese news media were present, including the newspapers Sing Tao Daily East USA, The World Journal, and the broadcaster Voice of America. Several activists and individuals representing different sectors expressed their support for democratic reforms in Hong Kong and shared their insights into the current situation.
