Security guards hired by Henderson Land and villagers trying to stop the developer from reclaiming farmland clashed for a second day in Ma Shi Po village in Fanling.
According to Mapopo Community Farm’s Facebook page, Henderson Land deployed more than 70 security guards to the village. It also said some of the villagers were forcibly carried away.
There were clashes between the company guards and local villagers on Monday also.
The developer has until the end of the year to take back the land, to be eligible for the government's land exchange programme under the area's new town development.
