A delegate to China's top advisory body, businessman Ricky Tsang, said on Friday that he has no favourites as to who should be the next Chief Executive and denied his think tank was set up with the upcoming CE election in mind.

Tsang said he felt he had to speak up following the Mong Kok violence earlier this year. He added that his group, called Proactive Think Tank, will study ways to improve people's livelihood.

Central leaders had been quoted as telling local business leaders to speak up, in support of the Central and SAR governments and reflect "the true voice" of Hong Kongers. Similar appeals had been made by the Chief Executive in late February.

Tsang is the son of Tsang Hin-chi, a former member of the National People's Congress Standing Committee.
