Political parties on Friday called for the suspension Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Betty Fung, over a conflict of interest case.
Fung made a a flats-swap with a company owned by a sister-in-law of Macau casino magnate Stanley Ho, but insisted last week she didn’t know that she was dealing with Chan Ung-iok.
Chan is the younger sister of Ho’s third wife, Ina Chan.
But reports have since emerged that her husband, Wilson Fung, helped Chan by signing previous property transaction papers.
The Civic Party said the government should investigate whether there was any serious conflict of interest while Democratic Party's chief executive Lam Cheuk-ting, said Fung should be suspended from duty.
Fung allegedly saved millions of dollars in exchanging her Mid-Levels flat with two linked flats in Happy Valley, in the deal.
