The chairwoman of the Democratic Party, Emily Lau, has called for an independent investigation into a claim that the Chief Executive, CY Leung, pressured airport staff into breaching security regulations.
An Apple Daily report said Leung made staff deliver a bag to his daughter which she had forgotten to take through security checks before a flight from Chek Lap Kok.
But in a statement, Leung denied this and said he had asked staff how he could collect the bag should his daughter leave Hong Kong without it.
Lau said further investigation was needed in light of the conflicting statements.
The League of Social Democrats said it would file a report about the incident with the ICAC on Friday.
