The Chairman of Demosisto, Nathan Law, said on Monday that he is not worried that his party may be fighting for the same votes as Youngspiration.
Law said if the two sides can cooperate, it will be good. But he pointed out that a disagreement between the two is the result of a democratic system.
Law said what was important is that voters will have more choice.
Demosisto, formed by some student leaders who were in the forefront of the Occupy protests in 2014, plans to field two lists of candidates in the Legislative Council election in September.
Youngspiration, a group that sprung up after the Occupy protests, had won one seat in the last year's District Council election. It is now planning to take part in the Legislative Council election by forming a coalition with six other post-Occupy groups.
