Controversial independent movie "Ten Years" has been crowned "Best Film" at this year's Hong Kong Film Awards.
The local low-budget production, composed of five short films, depicts a bleak future for the territory as it comes increasingly under the thumb of Beijing.
It was screened at public venues across the city last week, after only having a short run at local cinemas.
In February it was announced that year's awards ceremony wouldn't be shown on the mainland as usual, with reports saying the decision was made because "Ten Years" had been nominated.
Mainland news coverage of the awards failed to mention the film went on to win the top prize.
Other winners announced at the ceremony at the Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui on Sunday night included Aaron Kwok (Best Actor) and Jessie Li (Best Actress) for their roles in "Port of Call".
The crime thriller dominated the awards overall, with Michael Ning taking "Best Supporting Actor" and "Best Supporting Actress" going to Elaine Jin.
The "Best Director" award went to Tsui Hark for "The Taking Of Tiger Mountain".
