The Financial Secretary John Tsang said he doesn't understand why some people have suggested a "dogmatic definition" of a "Hongkonger" to distinguish who are Hong Kong people.
Writing on his blog, he said this suggestion was not in line with the long-standing pluralistic nature of Hong Kong society.
He said this kind of argument would not come to any conclusion, but would only trigger never-ending disputes.
