The ICAC has charged a policeman who allegedly booking a motorcyclist with a lesser traffic offence and soon after bought the same vehicle without declaring a conflict of interest.
The ICAC said PC Chong Yuk-lun chose not to ticket a motorcyclist on June 3 after his motorcycle crossed a continuous double white line, but slapped him with a lesser charge.
ICAC says soon after the officer bought the motorcycle from the driver. The police force’s guidelines required him to declare a conflict of interest, which the officer ignored.
He will appear at the court on Monday.
