Althea Suen talks to RTHK's Damon Pang
The University of Hong Kong's governing council will likely to decide next week on the membership of a task force to review the institution's governance.
Sources told RTHK those recommended for the group are overseas scholars, William Kirby and Malcolm Grant, and retired judge, Peter Nguyen.
The idea was approved in January when angry students besieged a council meeting to demand institutional autonomy.
The source said the meeting will be held next Tuesday in Admiralty, and will also discuss confidentiality issues.
The president of the University's student union, Althea Suen, told RTHK’s Damon Pang that she hopes the panel will look into limiting the Chief Executive's powers on universities.
