Nathan Law talks to RTHK's Janice Wong
Two top members of Demosisto, a new party set up by student activists who co-led the Occupy sit-ins in 2014, will give talks at several universities in the US later this month to drum up international support for their cause.
The group's Chairman, Nathan Law, said on Monday that he hopes to better explain their call for self-determination for Hong Kong during the trip with the party's Secretary, Joshua Wong.
Law said he was not worried that the trip may be seen by some people as inviting foreign interference in Hong Kong's affairs. "Hong Kong is an international city and we shouldn’t be afraid of having contacts with other civic societies", he said.
Law told RTHK’s Janice Wong that the pro-Beijing Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong has also made frequent contacts with political forces in other countries.
