The student unions of Shue Yan University and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) have gone ahead with a forum discussing the choice between peaceful and violent protests, after both schools allegedly refused to provide a venue for the contentious debate.
The students are using a small students union office in HKAPA for the leaders to sit and debate while the audience stood outside the room to listen in.
The guests, including localism leader like Edward Leung of Hong Kong Indigenous and Hong Kong National Party leader Chan Ho-tin, are talking part in the discussion.
After Shue Yan University university denied permission for the debate, the students had said they will hold it at HKAPA. But the authorities there also denied permission to use facilities there.
The students then started the debate at the students' union office.
