Joseph Lee talks to RTHK's Altis Wong

A member of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), lawmaker Joseph Lee, on Tuesday called on its new chairman, Alfred Chan, to explain his failure to declare that he took on outside work during his tenure at Lingnan University.

Professor Chan declined to respond to the saga on Tuesday – his second day as the EOC's chief.

The EOC issued a statement on Monday night confirming that Professor Chan had received HK$8,000 for working as a supervisor of doctoral dissertation for Tarlac State University in the Philippines in 2013 – hours after he denied receiving any remuneration.

Lee told RTHK's Altis Wong that Chan should come clean about the saga.

Tarlac State University had previously been reported to be involved in a diploma mill scam connected with Hong Kong.
