File photo: RTHKA member of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Rita Fan, said public figures should not use their positions for personal benefits as that goes against the expectations of Hong Kong people.
She was responding to reporters' questions over whether the Chief Executive, CY Leung, had abused his powers by ordering airline staff to deliver his daughter's forgotten bag into the restricted area of the airport.
Fan said she is not in a position to tell if Leung had committed any wrongdoing, but stressed public figures must be careful.
“Hong Kong people put a lot of importance on public figures acting in accordance with procedures. And public figures should not take advantage of their position to gain certain convenience,” she said.
